Induction ceremonies were held May 8 in Garden City, Kan., site of the 2023 NJCAA Division I Women's Golf Championship.

Briley said he was taken by complete surprise when he heard the news that he would be inducted into the Women's Golf Hall of Fame. The news came via DMACC men's and women's golf coach Chris Seaboch, who told Briley and members of the women's team after a recent practice.

"I had no idea," Briley said. "I'm excited and proud that it happened."

Briley said he is only the fifth person to be inducted and that he knows the other four inductees well.

"It's pretty cool," he said.

"I'm really happy for Larry," DMACC Athletics Director B.J. McGinn said. "He's done one heck of a job in a lot of areas for us."
