DMACC Women's golf team wins NIACC Spring Invitational

 

The DMACC women's golf team posted an 18-hole score of 341 to win the NIACC Spring Invitational April 16 at the Mason City Country Club in Mason City. The Bears finished five strokes ahead of North Iowa Area Community College (NIACC).

 

NIACC's Ashley Voves took individual honors with an 8-over-par 80, one stroke better than the 81s posted by DMACC sophomores Krista Swenson of Story City and Aubrey Duncan of Columbus Junction.

 

DMACC got a fifth-place tie from sophomore Lydia Steier of Granger and sophomore Emily Knoche of Iowa City tied for ninth. Steier shot an 18-hole score of 83 and Knoche turned in a 90.

 

DMACC freshmen Quinn Eslinger of Afton and Frannie Brown of Grundy Center also played in the tournament, finishing 15th and 17th respectively. Eslinger shot a 96 and Brown posted a 101.

 

The DMACC women's golf team will play in the Hawkeye Redtail Invite today at Irv Warren Golf Course in Waterloo.
