Jocelyn Kovarik enters her first season as head coach for the women's basketball program at DMACC after serving as assistant coach for the prior twelve years under Steve Krafcisin.

A 2005 graduate of Prairie Valley High School in Gowrie, Iowa, Jocelyn attended DMACC where she played two seasons under Coach Krafcisin. During her tenure at DMACC, she was a NJCAA 2nd Team All-American in both 2006 and 2007. Along with being a two-time All-American, she was named 1st Team All-Conference in both seasons and she was name to the Region XI All-Tournament team in 2007. Kovarik helped lead the Bears to a 44-20 record and was also 24-7 in conference play during her two seasons at DMACC. Jocelyn left DMACC holding many single season and career records: Most blocked shots in a career (338), season (176), and game (10).

After DMACC, Jocelyn transferred to Iowa State University to continue her education and basketball career under Coach Bill Fennelly. During her time as a Cyclone, she helped Iowa State advance to the 2nd Round of the NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament in 2008, and to the Elite 8 in 2009. While at Iowa State, Kovarik broke the single season record in blocked shots with 75 during her junior season and is fourth all time in blocks with 97. She graduated Iowa State with a bachelor's degree in finance and later returned to complete her Master’s Degree in Higher Education with a Concentration in Community College Leadership.

After her time at ISU, Jocelyn assisted within the All Iowa Attack basketball organization in Ames, IA.

Jocelyn is married to Jeremiah Kovarik and they have two children, Paisley and Quinn. They reside in Ames, Iowa.

Kovarik and her husband, Jeremiah, make their home in Ames. They are the parents of two children, Paisley and Quinn.
