Dylan Ellis and Joe Dean, members of the DMACC men's golf team, have earned postseason recognition for their performances in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region XI Invitational May 1 and 2 at Blue Top Ridge Golf Course in Riverside.

 

Ellis, a sophomore from Aplington, was named to the all-region second team and Dean, a sophomore from Cedar Falls, earned honorable mention recognition.

 

Ellis led the Bears to a third-place finish in the tournament with a 54-hole score of 229, trying for sixth place in the individual competition. He shot rounds of 79, 76 and 74 over the par-72 layout.

 

Dean posted scores of 75, 85 and 79 for a 54-hole total of 239, finishing in 12th place.

 

The DMACC men's golf team shot a 954 in the tournament and finished third behind Kirkwood Community College (KCC) and Iowa Central Community College (ICCC). All three teams will play in the 2021 NJCAA Division II Men's Golf Championship May 18 to 21 at Swan Lake Resort in Plymouth, Ind.
