DMACC men's golf team finishes fourth in NIACC spring Invitational

The DMACC men's golf team came away with a fourth-place finish in the NIACC Spring Invitational April 15 at the Mason City Country Club in Mason City.

 

Iowa Central Community College (ICCC) took the team title with an 18-hole score of 300 and DMACC finished fourth at 305. North Iowa Area Community College (NIACC) and Hawkeye Community College (HCC) placed second and third with scores of 302 and 303 respectively.

 

DMACC sophomore Dylan Ellis of Aplington took medalist honors with a three-under-par 69, finished four stroke ahead of Justin Schipper of ICCC.

 

DMACC got a fifth-place tie from sophomore Joe Dean of Cedar Falls and sophomore Logan Barnes of Altoona tied for 14th. Dean shot a 75 and Barnes posted a 77.

 

Other DMACC results included a tie for 25th by freshman Tyler Sansgaard of Nevada and a tie for 27th by sophomore Ryan Leath of Glenwood. Freshman Jack West of Winterset finished in 30th place, sophomore Trevor Heinen of Waterloo tied for 31st and freshman Ryan Nichols of Ogden finished 36th. Sansgaard shot an 80, Leath posted an 81, West turned in an 82 and Nichols finished with an 85.

 

The DMACC men's golf team will play in the Hawkeye Redtail Invitational today at Fox Ridge Golf Course in Dike.
