The Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) has named Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) men's basketball player Lee Higgins the ICCAC Athlete of the Week for Division II men's basketball for the week of December 18 to January 7.

 

Higgins, a freshman from Chicago, Ill., led the Bears to a lopsided 111-55 win over Hibbing Community College (HCC) on Jan. 6 with 23 points, two assists and a blocked shot. Higgins connected on eight of 11 shots from the field, including 4-of-6 from three-point range, and he made all three of his free throw attempts.

 

Higgins is averaging 15.4 points a game for DMACC. He is shooting 49 percent from the field (80-of-163), including 42 percent from three-point range, where he has made 39 of 94 attempts. Higgins is 47-of-62 from the free throw line. His season also includes 25 rebounds and 28 assists.
