DMACC's Jake Thilges named ICCAC Athlete of the Week
  • Thilges totaled seven RBIs in the eight games
  • Thilges finishes the week with a .468 on-base percentage
  • Thilges ranks second to teammate Kaleb Harrison in RBIs in the ICCAC

 

The Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) has named DMACC's Jake Thilges the ICCAC Athlete of the Week for Division II baseball for the week of February 22 to 28.

 

Thilges, a freshman from Johnston, collected 10 hits in 27 at-bats as the DMACC baseball team went 3-5 in games in Texas and Oklahoma and he finished the week with a .468 on-base percentage.

 

Thilges played a key role in DMACC's 8-7 win over North Central Texas College (NCTC) on Feb. 23, belting a three-run home run in the top of the eighth that gave the Bears a 7-6 lead. NCTC tied the game in the bottom of the ninth and the Bears came away with the win with a run in the top of the 10th.

 

Thilges is batting .433 with a .564 on-base percentage and a .733 slugging percentage. He has 13 hits in 30 at-bats, including two doubles, two triples and one home run. Thilges has scored six runs and has nine runs batted in. His RBI total ranks him second to teammate Kaleb Harrison in the conference. Harrison has 10 RBI       s.
