ICCAC names DMACC's Jackson Fisher ICCAC Athlete of the Week for Division II baseball
  • Fisher collects three hits including a double and a home run in college debut
  • He added a walk and a stolen base and scored four runs
  • Bears fall 10-3 and 5-2 to third-ranked Northern Oklahoma College-Tonkawa in the doubleheader

 

The Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) has named DMACC's Jackson Fisher the ICCAC Athlete of the Week for Division II baseball for the week of February 1 to 7.

 

Fisher, a freshman from Chariton, stood out as the DMACC baseball team dropped a season-opening doubleheader to Northern Oklahoma College-Tonkawa Feb. 5 at Tonkawa, Okla. Scores were 10-3 and 5-2.

 

Fisher, a catcher, went 3-for-5 in the two games. Two of his three hits included a double and a home run. He also drew a walk, had one stolen base and scored four runs, including both runs in the second game.

 

The DMACC baseball team is idle until Feb. 17 and 18 when the Bears travel to Gainesville, Texas to face North Central Texas College (NCTC). The two teams will play a doubleheader on Feb. 17 and a single game on Feb. 18.
