DMACC's Denver Blinn Named ICCAC Position Player of the Week

The Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) has named Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) baseball player Denver Blinn the ICCAC Division II Position Player of the Week for the Week of March 12 to 18.

 

Blinn, a freshman from West Fargo, N.D., is the second DMACC baseball player to be honored by the conference. Austin Murr, a freshman from Denmark Township, Minn., earned ICCAC Division II Position Player of the Week honors for the week of March 5 to 11.

 

Blinn helped the Bears to a 4-0 record during the week, collecting 11 hits in 16 at-bats, including a pair of home runs. He drove in eight runs and scored 11 runs.

 

Blinn is hitting .425 for the season, ranking sixth in the ICCAC. He has 17 hits in 40 at-bats and his hits include two doubles, three triples and two home runs. He has driven in 12 runs and scored 17 runs. Blinn has a .529 on-base percentage and a .775 slugging percentage.

 

The DMACC baseball team is 9-6 for the season with a nine-game winning streak. The Bears face NJCAA Division I Iowa Western Community College (IWCC) in a doubleheader today at Council Bluffs and will open the ICCAC season against Kirkwood Community College (ICC) March 24 at the DMACC baseball diamond. The two teams will play doubleheaders March 24 and 25. KCC is 14-3 for the season and has won its last five consecutive games.
