Courtney Donahue; ICCAC Athlete of the Week

The Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) has named DMACC’s Courtney Donahue the ICCAC Athlete of the Week for Division II Softball (pitching) for the week of March 25 to 31.

 

Donahue, a sophomore from Marshfield, Wis., has been honored by conference for the fifth consecutive week and she has been honored six times this season. She is one of two members of the DMACC softball team to have been honored by the conference this season.

 

Previous honors for Donahue came the weeks of March 18 to 26, March 11 to 17, March 4 to 10, Feb. 26 to March 3 and Feb. 12 to 18.

 

Freshman Hilary Wilson of Solon was honored for her hitting the week of Feb. 12 to 18.

 

Donahue pitched in two games during the week, allowing one hit with 11 strikeouts and a walk. She beat Hawkeye Community College (HCC), 13-0, on March 29 and beat Iowa Central Community College (ICCC), 9-0, on March 30. Donahue threw four hitless innings against HCC and struck out 11 batters. She went six innings against ICCC, allowing one hit, striking out 11 batters and walking one.

 

Donahue is 11-1 with an 0.80 earned run average. She has pitched 79 innings, allowing 11 runs, nine earned runs, on 27 hits. Donahue has struck out 158 batters, walked 14 and she is averaging 14 strikeouts per seven innings.

 

Donahue leads the ICCAC in strikeouts, wins and earned run average and leads Division II of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) in strikeouts
