  • Kaufman had 10 hits in 23 at-bats during the week
  • Kaufman’s hits include one single, five doubles and four home runs
  • Kaufman is batting .420 with nine home runs and 40 runs batted in

 

The Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) has named DMACC’s Camden Kaufman the ICCAC Athlete of the Week for Division II Baseball for the week of March 25 to 31.

 

The honor is the third of the season for Kaufman and he is one of three members of the  DMACC baseball team to be honored by the conference this season. Kaufman was also honored the week of March 4 to 10 and the week of Jan. 29 to Feb. 4.

 

Dillon Kuehl, a sophomore from Urbandale, was honored the week of Feb. 26 to March 3 and Eli Lehrman, a sophomore from Anamosa, was honored for his pitching the week of Jan. 29 to Feb. 4.

 

Kaufman, a sophomore from Waukee, had ten hits in 23 at-bats as the Bears went 4-2 during the week. His hits included one single, five doubles and four home runs. Kaufman scored seven runs and drove in eight runs.

 

Kaufman had a run-scoring double and scored a run in the Bears’ 5-3 win over Iowa Central Community College (ICCC) on March 25. He hit a pair of doubles, scored a run and drove in a run in a 5-2 win over Southeastern Community College (SECC) in the first game of a doubleheader on March 28. His home run accounted for the Bears’ only run in a 10-1 loss in the second game.

 

Kaufman belted a two-run home run in a 7-4 loss to North Iowa Area Community College (NIACC) in the first game of a doubleheader on March 29 and hit two home runs and a double, drove in three runs and scored two runs in DMACC’s 13-10 win in the second game. He doubled and scored a run in a 7-0 win over NIACC on March 30.
