DMACC women's golf team finishes second in DMACC Invitational

 

The DMACC women's golf team closed out the fall season finishing second in the DMACC Invitational October 9 at Cedar Pointe Golf Course in Boone.

 

The Bears posted an 18-hole score of 334 and Graceland University (GU) was a distance second at 419.

 

Sophomore Meg Thompson of Greene led the Bears with an eight-over-par 80 and earned medalist honors. DMACC freshmen Annie Burns of Algona and Anne van Hemert of Eindhoven, Netherlands shot 83 and 84 respectively and finished second and third. Sophomore Erin Winker of Carroll was fourth with an 87 and freshman Viola Welsh of Fairfield was fifth with an 88.

 

DMACC freshmen Halle Hagberg of Polk City, Alexis Barber of Newell and Lilly Houtakker of Solon and sophomore Rylee Roberts of Des Moines also competed in the tournament. Hagberg shot an 89 and finished sixth, Barber was seventh with a 94, Houtakker placed 10th with a 100 and Roberts tied for 11th with a 102.
