Sophomore Ashley Michel of Nassau, Bahamas, tied for third place in the individual competition and led the DMACC women's golf team to a fourth-place finish in the Ron Streck Invitational which came to a close on March 14 at Meadowbrook Country Club in Tulsa, Okla.

 

Michel posted an 83 in the second round to go with an 82 in the first round and tied for third with a 36-hole score of 165. DMACC shot a 381 in the second round for a 36-hole total of 751.

 

Hope International (HI) won the team championship with a 657 on rounds of 330 and 327. Lily Rodriguez of HI took medalist honors with a two-day total of 158. Rodriguez opened with a 77 and shot an 81 in her second round.

 

Other DMACC results saw freshman Erin Winker of Carroll tie for 19th, freshman Meg Thompson of Greene finished 23rd and freshman Kaylin Petrak of Grimes, sophomore Dani Nolde of Ogallala, Neb., and freshman Rylee Roberts of Pleasant Hill were 27th, 30th and 33rd respectively.

 

Winker had a 36-hole score of 188 after shooting a 95 in the second round and Thompson shot 100 to go with an opening 94 for a two-day total of 194. Petrak closed with a 103 for a 36-hole score of 204 and Nolde matched her opening round 105 with another 105 in the second round and ended the tournament at 210. Roberts' second round 124 gave her a two-day total of 242.

 

The DMACC women's golf team will play in the William Woods Spring Invite March 27 and 28 at Tanglewood Golf Course in Fulton, Mo
