DMACC women's basketball team romps to 80-37 win over Central College JV

Freshmen Jaden Ainley of Clear Lake and Reanna Hutchinson of Eau Claire, Wis., scored 15 and 12 points respectively to lead the DMACC women's basketball team to an 80-37 win over the Central College Junior Varsity (CCJV) January 12 inside the DMACC gymnasium.

 

Every player on the DMACC roster played in the game and each scored as the Bears improved to 9-6 for the season. The Bears extended their current winning streak to three games and have won four of their last five games.

 

DMACC led throughout the game. It was 20-6 at the end of the first quarter, 40-13 at halftime and 60-22 at the end of the third quarter.

 

The Bears shot 41 percent in the win, making 30 of 74 field goal attempts. They were 5-of-19 from the free throw line and 15-of-21 from the free throw line.

 

DMACC had a 46-38 advantage on the boards with sophomore Reagan Franzen of Polk City and sophomore Jadeyn Smith of Arcadia pulling down eight and seven rebounds respectively to lead the way. Franzen also led the Bears in assists with three and Ainley top DMACC in steals with four.

 

The DMACC women's basketball team will return to Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) play Jan. 14 when the Bears face Marshalltown Community College (MCC) at Marshalltown. DMACC is 2-3 in conference play. MCC is 0-12 overall and 0-5 in the conference.
