Archibald's 17 points lead DMACC women's basketball team past Central College JV, 81-43

Freshman Jensen Archibald of Martinsdale came off the bench to score 17 points and lead the DMACC women's basketball team to an 81-43 win over the Central College Junior Varsity (CCJV) January 6 inside the DMACC gymnasium.

 

Freshmen Jaden Ainley of Clear Lake and Rebekah Fuller of Bondurant joined Archibald in double figures with 15 and 10 points respectively as the Bears improved to 7-6 for the season.

 

DMACC led throughout the game. The Beas had a 14-8 lead at the end of the first quarter and stretched their advantage of 38-21 at halftime. They had a 57-32 lead at the end of the third quarter.

 

DMACC shot 46 percent in the win, making 36 of 78 field goal attempts. The Bears were 3-of-16 from three-point range and 6-of-15 from the free throw line.

 

Sophomore Regan Franzen of Polk City pulled down eight rebounds to lead DMACC to a 49-23 advantage on the boards. Fuller had seven rebounds, freshman Reanna Hutchinson of Eau Claire, Wis., finished with six and Ainley had five. Freshman Kennedy Jones of Oak Park, Ill., dished out six assists and Ainley topped the Bears in steals with three.

 

The DMACC women's basketball team will be home to Iowa Central Community College (ICCC) on Jan. 11. Game time is 5:30 p.m. inside the DMACC gymnasium. The Bears are 1-3 in the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC). ICCC is 8-8 overall and 2-4 in conference play.
