DMACC's Hilary Wilson named ICCAC Athlete of the Week
  • Wilson hit .667 as DMACC won seven of eight games during the week
  • Wilson had five home runs, 18 runs batted in and scored 13 runs
  • Wilson leads the Bears in hitting and home runs

 

The Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) has named DMACC's Hilary Wilson the ICCAC Athlete of the Week for Division II Softball for the Week of April 8 to 14.

 

Wilson, a sophomore from Solon, has been recognized by the ICCAC for the second time this season and she is one of two members of the DMACC softball team to be recognized this season. She was also honored the week of Feb. 12 to 18.

 

Courtney Donahue, a sophomore from Marshfield, Wis., has been honored the weeks of April 8 to 14, April 1 to 7, March 25 to 31, March 18 to 14, March 11 to 17, Feb. 26 to March 3 and Feb. 12 to 18 for her pitching performances.

 

Wilson batted .667 with five home runs, 18 runs batted in and 13 runs scored as the Bears won six of seven games during the week.

 

Wilson was 3-for-3 with two runs scored, three RBIs, two doubles and a home run in a 9-0 win over North Iowa Area Community College (NIACC) in the first game of a doubleheader April 8 at the DMACC softball team. She went 1-for-2 with two runs scored one RBI and a home run in a 9-1 win in the second game.

 

On April 10, Wilson was 4-for-4 with four runs scored, three RBIs and two home runs in a 17-3 win over Ellsworth Community College (ECC) in the first game of a doubleheader at the DMACC softball diamond. She also went 4-for-4 with three runs scored, six RBIs, two doubles and a home run in a 16-7 win in the second game.

 

Wilson helped the Bears to a 10-0 win over Iowa Lakes Community College (ILCC) in the first game of a doubleheader April 13 at Estherville, collecting two hits in three at-bats and driving in three runs. She went 3-for-4 with one run scored and two RBIs in an 11-3 win in the second game.

 

Wilson was hitless in three plate appearance in a 1-0 win over NIACC in the first game of a doubleheader April 14 at Mason City and had one hit and one run scored in a 12-8 loss in the second game.

 

Wilson is batting .583 with a .598 on-base percentage and a 1.125 slugging percentage this season. She has 42 hits in 72 at-bats and her hits include 12 doubles and nine home runs. She has scored 25 runs and driven in 36 runs. Wilson leads the Bears in hitting, home runs and RBIs.
