DMACC's Dillon Kuehl named ICCAC Athlete of the Week
  • Kuehl batted .545 during the week with six hits in 11 at-bats
  • Kuehl's hits included a double and two home runs
  • Kuehl scored seven runs and drove in four runs

 

The Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) has named DMACC's Dillon Kuehl the ICCAC Athlete of the Week for Division II Baseball for the week of February 26 to March 3.

 

Kuehl, a sophomore from Urbandale, is one of three members of the DMACC baseball team to be honored by the conference this season. Camden Kaufman, a sophomore from Waukee, was honored the week of Jan. 29 to Feb. 4 and Eli Lehrman, a sophomore from Anamosa, was honored for his pitching performances the week of Jan. 29 to Feb. 4.

 

Kuehl batted .545 with six hits in 11 at-bats during the week. His hits included a double and two home runs. He scored seven runs and drove in four runs.

 

Kuehl homered, scored two runs and drove in one run in a 7-5 win over Butler County Community College (BCCC) in the first game of a doubleheader March 1 at El Dorado, Kan. He had two hits, including a double, scored one run and drove in another run in a 10-9 win in the second game.

 

Kuehl singled, walked three times and scored three runs in a 15-7 win in the first game of a doubleheader against BCCC on March 2 and singled, homered, scored two runs and drove in one run in a 6-5 loss in the second game.

 

Kuehl is batting .333 with a .508 on-base percentage and a .690 slugging percentage this season. He has 14 hits in 42 at-bats and his hits include four doubles, a triple and four home runs. He has driven in 14 runs and has scored 17 runs.

 

The DMACC baseball team, 9-7, opens the home season against Dakota County Technical College (DCTC) on March 9. The two teams will play doubleheaders on March 9 and 10.
