DMACC's Simon Gregersen named ICCAC Pitcher of the Week for Division II baseball
  • Gregersen earned a save as the Bears opened the season with a 6-5 win over Northern Oklahoma-Tonkawa
  • Gregersen got the win in a 5-4 victory against North Central Texas College
  • Gregersen allowed two runs on six hits and struck out seven in four innings during the six-game road trip

 

The Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) has named DMACC's Simon Gregersen the ICCAC Athlete of the Week for Division II Baseball (pitching) for the week of Feb. 7 to 13.

 

Gregersen, a Covid-19 freshman (CoFR) from Ramsey, Minn., is the second member of the DMACC baseball team to be honored by the conference this season. CoFR Tre Mungin was named the ICCAC Athlete of the Week for Division II baseball for the week of Feb. 7 to 13.

 

Gregersen made two appearances on the mound as the Bears opened the season with a six-game road trip to Oklahoma and Texas. He earned the save as the Bears began the trip with a 5-4 win over Northern Oklahoma-Tonkawa (NOT) on Feb. 10. Gregersen went two and two-thirds innings, allowing two runs on five hits with five strikeouts and a walk.

 

Gregersen got the win in a 5-4 decision against North Central Texas College (NCTC) on Feb. 12, allowing one hit and striking out two batters over an inning and a third.

 

The Bears went 5-1 on the trip, splitting two games against NOT and sweeping all four games against NCTC.

For the season, Gregersen is 1-0 with a save. He has pitched four innings, allowing two runs in six hits with seven strikeouts and a walk.

 

The DMACC baseball team is idle until Feb. 25 and 26 when the Bears travel to Enid, Okla., to face Northern Oklahoma-End (NOE).
