The DMACC women's golf team garnered a second-place finish in the DMACC Invitational September 16 at Cedar Pointe Golf Course in Boone.
The Bears posted an 18-hole score of 353, finishing 23 strokes behind the winning score of 330 shot by Iowa Lakes Community College (ILCC).
DMACC sophomore Ashley Michel of Nassau, Bahamas, took medalist honors for the second consecutive tournament, firing a five-over-par 77. She led all six DMACC golfers to top ten finishes.
Freshman Meg Thompson of Greene shot 91 and finishes sixth, sophomore Dani Nolde of Ogallala, Neb., was seventh with a 92 and freshmen Erin Winker of Carroll, Kaylin Petrak of Grimes and Rylee Roberts of Pleasant Hill were eighth, ninth and tenth respectively. Winker turned in a 93, Petrak shot 96 and Roberts posted a 106.
The DMACC women's golf team will play in the Hawkeye Invite today at South Hills Golf Course in Waterloo.
