DMACC women's golf team finishes fourth in NIACC Fall Invitational

 

The DMACC women's golf team competed in the NIACC Fall Invitational Sept. 7 at the Mason City Country Club in Mason City and came away with a fourth-place finish.

 

Iowa Lakes Community College (ILCC) took the team championship with an 18-hole score of 336 and DMACC shot 367 in finishing fourth. ILCC's Isabella Santistevan earned medalist honors with a three-over-par 75.

 

Covid-19 freshman (CoFR) Krista Swenson of Story City led DMACC with an 84 and finished third in the individual competition. Freshman Jaiden Wallander of Indianola tied for eighth with a 91 and freshman Ashley Michel of Nassau, Bahamas, finished 15th with  a 93. CoFR Quinn Eslinger of Afton tied for 16th and freshman Taylor Balsley of Ames tied for 18th. Eslinger posted a 94 and Balsley shot a 96.

 

Other DMACC results saw freshman Dani Nolde of Ogallala, Neb., finish in 21st place and freshman Emmy Monson of Runnells finished 24th. Nolde turned in a 98 and Monson shot 104.

 

The DMACC women's golf team will play in the DMACC Invite Sept. 15 at the Ames Golf and Country Club in Ames.
