DMACC women's golf team finishes sixth in BVU Fall Invite

 

The Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) women's golf team came away with a sixth-place finish in the Buena Vista University Fall Invite Sept. 20 and 21 at Storm Lake.

 

The Bears totaled 736 strokes in the 36-hole event. Dakota Wesleyan University (DWU) won the team championship with 682 strokes and Lexie Patton of Central College Red took individual honors with a 160 total, turning in scores of 80 each day.

 

DMACC was led by freshman Krista Swenson of Jewell who shot rounds of 91 and 85 for a two-day total of 176. Freshman Lydia Steier of Des Moines turned in a 91 and a 90 for a 181 and sophomore Abi Tinlin of Des Moines finished at 188 behind scores of 96 and 92. Freshmen Emily Knoche of Iowa City and Aubrey Duncan of Columbus Junction rounded out DMACC's performance with scores of 194 and 204 respectively. Knoche posted scores of 101 and 93 and Duncan turned in scores of 98 and 106.

 

The DMACC women's golf team will play in the Red Tail Shootout Sept. 26 at Waterloo.
