The DMACC men's golf team came away with a tie for third place in the NIACC Fall Invitational September 8 at the Mason City Country Club in Mason City.

The Bears finished the 18-hole tournament with 306 strokes, tying Hawkeye Community College (HCC) for third place. Iowa Central Community College (ICCC) won the team championship with a score of 301 and Iowa Lakes Community College (ILCC) finished second at 304.

ICCC's Austin Erickson took medalist honors with an even-par 72.

Freshman Spencer Clatt of Gilbert led DMACC with a two-over-par 74, tying for third place in the individual competition. Freshmen Drake Anderson of Sargeant Bluff and Calvin McNeeley of Pleasant Hill tied for 11^th place with four-over-par 76s and freshman Cade McGill of Johnston posted a 78 and tied for 21^st place.

Other DMACC scores included an 80 by sophomore Sam Vertanen of Ames and an 82 by freshman Kaleb Allen of West Burlington. Vertanen tied for 29^th and Allen tied for 35^th.

The DMACC men's golf team will play in the DMACC Invitational Sept. 16 at Cedar Pointe Golf Course in Boone.
