Davidson's 26 points lead DMACC men's basketball team past LPT

Sophomore DeShawn Davidson of Waukegan, Ill., scored 26 points to lead the Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) men's basketball team to a 92-75 win over Little Priest Tribal (LPT) January 31 inside the DMACC gymnasium.

 

Sophomore Dyllan Robinson of Las Vegas, Nev., scored 19 points and sophomores Tray Buchanan of East Moline, Ill., and Ray Miller of Davenport added 15 and 12 points respectively as the Bears ran their record to 14-6 overall and 4-3 in the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC). DMACC led 41-37 at halftime.

 

The Bears shot 50 percent in the win, hitting 32 of 64 field goal attempts. They were 6-of-18 from three-point range and 22-of-27 from the free throw line.

 

Sophomore Quinton Taylor of Cedar Point, Texas, narrowly missed a double-double with 10 points and nine rebounds as DMACC matched LPT in rebounds with 41 apiece. Buchanan added eight rebounds and sophomore Zaire Swaby of Brooklyn, N.Y., finished with seven. Sophomore Devonta Prince of Brooklyn Center, Minn., dished out nine assists and Davidson topped DMACC in steals with three.

 

The DMACC men's basketball team will face the Mount Mercy College junior varsity today. Game time is 6 p.m. inside the DMACC gymnasium.
