The Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) has named DMACC's Kayden Spencer the ICCAC Athlete of the Week for women's cross country for the week of September 9 to 15.
Spencer, a sophomore from Boone, is being honored for the second time this fall. She was also honored for the time period of Aug. 22 to Sept. 1.
Spencer led the DMACC women's cross country team to the team championship in the Trent Smith Invitational Sept. 13 at Mason City. She won the 5K race in 20 minutes, averaging 6.26 minutes a mile.
Spencer beat two other DMACC runners in winning the race. Sophomore Grace Collins of Johnston finished second to Spencer, turning in a time of 20:03, and freshman Jaycie Vohs of Galva was third in 20:16.
The DMACC women's cross country team will run in the Grand View Invitational Sept. 21 at Ankeny.
