DMACC WOMEN’S CROSS COUNTRY TEAM RUNS AT TRENT SMITH INVITATIONAL IN MASON CITY

The Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) women's cross country team had only three runners compete in the Trent Smith Invitational Cross Country meet on Friday, October 9.

Iowa Central Community College won the event with 30 team points, followed by North Iowa Area Community College with 38 points.  Since DMACC only had three runners competing and the top five runners' positions count for team standings, DMACC did not qualify for the team scores.

DMACC's Wendy Liera of LeGrand individually finished in 11th place with a time of 23:59.92 over the 5K course.  Wendy's sister, Cindy Liera, took 15th place with a time of 25:35.02.  DMACC's Karima Koko of Des Moines took 19th place in a time of 26:10.73.

The DMACC women's cross country team will conclude the fall season with the Region XI Championships in Fort Dodge on Sunday, November 1.
