Cross Country Team Finishes Fifth in Trent Smith Invitational
DMACC cross country team members turned in their best times of the season as the Bears finished fifth in the Trent Smith Invitational Oct. 13th at Mason City.

 
DMACC, led by Molly Eyerly's 27th-place finish, scored 124 points in placing fifth. Eyerly, a sophomore from Winterset, turned in a time of 22 minutes, 50 seconds on the 5k (3.1-mile) Course.

 
Iowa Western Community College (IWCC) took the team championship with 22 points and Joanna Topham of Hawkeye Community College (HCC) won the individual competition with a time of 19:50.

 
Other DMACC results saw sophomore Chasity Moody of Maxwell finish 32nd, sophomore Jada Wierck of West Des Moines was 37th, freshman Anna Jones of Maxwell finished in 44th place and freshman Kristin Smith of Newton was 50th. Moody's time was 23:31, Wierck crossed the finish line in 24:03, Jones finished in 25:54 and Smith was timed in 28:19.

 
The DMACC cross country team will run in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region XI Championship Oct. 29th at Fort Dodge.
