DMACC Cross Country Team Competes in Fighting Bee Invitational

The Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) cross country team competed in the Fighting Bee Invitational at Bettendorf and scored 316 points.

 

St. Ambrose University, led by Ashley Plumb's first-place finish, took the team championship with 35 points. Plumb won the individual competition with a time of 19 minutes, 37 seconds on the 6K course.

 

DMACC was led by sophomore Molly Eyerly, who finished 49th with a time of 23:28. Sophomore Chasity Moody of Maxwell was 57th in 24:02 and sophomore Jada Wierck of West Des Moines turned in a time of 25:25, good for 62nd place. Freshmen Anna Jones of Maxwell and Kristin Smith of Newton, who just joined the team, rounded out DMACC's performance with 72nd- and 76th-place finishes respectively. Jones was timed in 27:51 and Smith crossed the finish line in 28:59.

 

The DMACC cross country team will run in the Trent Smith Invitational Oct. 13 at Mason City.
