DMACC Cross Country Team Finishes Fourth in Buxton Invitational

The Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) cross country team placed fourth in the Bill Buxton - Simpson Invitational September 1 at Indianola.

 

Simpson College took the team championship with 25 points and DMACC scored 88 points in finishing fourth. Simpson's Sadie Timms won the individual competition, touring the 4K course in 16 minutes, 14 seconds.

 

DMACC was led by sophomore Molly Eyerly of Winterset, who finished 11th with a time of 18:09. Sophomore Chasity Moody of Maxwell turned in a time of 18:48, finishing 13th, and sophomore Jada Wierck of West Des Moines was 19th with a time of 20:58. Freshmen Anna Jones of Maxwell and Cassie Anderson of Knoxville rounded out DMACC's performance, finishing 21st and 24th respectively. Jones crossed the finish line in 22:37 and Anderson was timed in 24:59.

 

The DMACC cross country team will run in the Viking Invitational Sept. 15 at Des Moines.
