Danielle Lopez is entering her third year as the Head Coach of the Des Moines Area Community College Volleyball Program. During her second season, she helped lead the team to a 22-15 record as well as a National Ranking in the NJCAA Division II Top 20 for five weeks. She helped produce four ICCAC Athletes of the Week, three All-Tournament Team Region XI-B players, one First Team All-Conference player, two Second Team All-Conference players, and one Third Team All-Conference player.

During her first season, she helped lead the team to a 19-15 record as well as a National ranking in the NJCAA Division II Top 20 for seven weeks. She helped produce three ICCAC Athletes of the Week, two All-Tournament Team Region XI-A players, two First Team All-Conference players, one Second Team All-Conference player, and two Honorable Mention All-Conference players.

Before taking the Head Coach position, Danielle was the assistant coach for the DMACC women’s volleyball program for two years. During the 2020-21 season she helped lead The DMACC Bears to a 17-5 record, including 15 three-match sweeps. The Bears were ranked in the NJCAA Division II Top Ten for eight consecutive weeks, including a No. 3 ranking late in the season. Lopez helped produce one First Team All-Conference player, one Second Team All-Conference player, two Honorable Mention All-Conference players, and two All-Tournament Region XI-B players.

During her first season at DMACC, she helped lead The Bears to an 18-18 record and coached one All-American in Amber Dilsaver. Lopez also helped produce one First Team All-Conference player, one Second Team All-Conference player, one Honorable Mention All-Conference player, two ICCAC Athletes of the Week, and one All-Tournament Region XI-A player.

During her time at DMACC, Lopez has helped transfer numerous athletes out of DMACC to play on at four year institutions/universities at all levels- D1, D2, D3 and NAIA.

Before coming to DMACC, Danielle worked with the NCAA D1 University of Northern Colorado volleyball program where she gained experience in all of the day-to-day aspects of the program. She had been a club volleyball coach in the Colorado scene for over 9 years as well as a coach at a 5A high school for 2 years. Danielle has also worked as a satellite coach for summer volleyball camps at NCAA D1 colleges throughout the nation.

Danielle graduated from The University of Northern Colorado with a Bachelor of Science in Sports and Exercise Science with an emphasis in Sports Coaching. She is a native of Longmont, Colorado and a former player at 4A Longmont High School. While at LHS, Danielle helped her team win District and Regional championship titles her junior and senior year, as well as appearances at the State Tournament both years.
