Sophomore Amber Dilsaver of Fort Madison had nine kills, two ace serves and three block assists to lead the Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) volleyball team to a 3-0 win over Ellsworth Community College (ECC) October 23 inside the DMACC gymnasium.

 

Freshmen Darian Gray of Mechanicsville and Katelyn Courtney of Ames contributed five kills apiece as the Bears won by set scores of 25-15, 25-20, 25-23. The win gives DMACC an overall record of 18-14 and a 6-2 record in the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC).

 

The Bears hit .172 in the win, getting 27 kills from 87 attacks with 12 hitting errors.

 

Sophomore Cailey Schaa of Council Bluffs had 24 assists, two ace serves and eight digs and freshman Dakota Miles of Dallas Center had three ace serves and a team-high 13 digs. Gray finished the match with 12 digs and freshman Sloane Magill of Sigourney had four block assists.

 

The DMACC volleyball team will face Central (Neb.) Community College (CNECC) Oct. 25. Match time is 6:30 p.m.
