DMACC volleyball team drops three-set match to ICCC

The Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) volleyball team slipped to 4-5 for the season and 1-1 in the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) following a three-set loss to Iowa Central Community College (ICCC) September 11 inside the DMACC gymnasium.

 

ICCC, ranked 14th in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) poll, won by scores of 25-22, 25-19, 25-22.

 

Sophomore Amber Dilsaver of Fort Madison led the Bears with 18 kills and freshman Delaney Kelley of Rock Island, Ill., came away with 10. DMACC hit .236 in the loss, getting 39 kills from 110 attacks with 13 hitting errors.

 

Sophomore Cailey Schaa of Council Bluffs led DMACC in assists with 37 and freshman Dakota Miles of Dallas Center topped the Bears in digs with 19. Freshman Dorian Gray of Mechanicsville had 12 digs and Kelley added 10. Freshman Katelyn Courtney of Ames had three blocks, including two solo blocks.

 

The DMACC volleyball team will play Johnson County Community College (JCCC) and Northeastern Oklahoma A&M (NEO) today in Overland Park, Kan. JCCC is ranked third in NJCAA Division II.
