DMACC volleyball team falls to Indian Hills CC, 3-0

The Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) volleyball team slipped to 2-3 for the season following a 3-0 loss to Indian Hills Community College (IHCC) August 28 at Ottumwa.

 

Set scores were 25-12, 25-12 25-22.

 

Freshman Delaney Kelley of Rock Island, Ill., topped DMACC in hitting with nine kills and sophomore Amber Dilsaver of Fort Madison added four. The Bears hit a disappointing .077 in the loss, getting just 17 kills from 91 attacks with 10 hitting errors.

 

Sophomore Cailey Schaa of Council Bluffs led DMACC in assists with 14 and Dilsaver and freshman Dakota Miles of Dallas Center contributed one ace serve apiece. Miles finished the match with 13 digs and freshman Katelyn Courtney of Ames had five blocks, including four solo blocks.

 

The DMACC volleyball team begins Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) play with a match against North Iowa Area Community College (NIACC) Sept. 4 at Mason City. The Trojans are 4-0 this season.
