DMACC's Amber Dilsaver earns first-team all-region and all-conference volleyball honors

Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) volleyball player Amber Dilsaver has been named to the first team of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region XI-A first team and to the Iowa Community College Athletic Association (ICCAC) first team.

 

Dilsaver, a freshman from Fort Madison, was the only DMACC player garnering first team honors at the all-region and all-conference levels. Sophomores Gill Tupper of Nevada and Madison Paulsen of Council Bluffs were named to the second all-region team and Tupper earned second-team all-conference honors. Paulsen and sophomore Peyton Parker of La Porte City received all-conference honorable mention.

 

Dilsaver led the ICCAC in hitting percentage at .363 and in blocks per set at 1.15. She was third behind Paulsen and Parker in team kills with 327. Those kills came from 630 attacks with 98 hitting errors. Her season also included 12 assists, 42 digs and a team-high 151 blocks, including 98 block assists.

 

Tupper led the Bears in assists with 983, averaging 7.45 assists per set. Her season also included 58 kills, a team-high 47 ace serves, 324 digs and 21 blocks, including 17 block assists.

 

Paulsen led DMACC in kills with 364. She hit .181 for the season with those kills coming from 1,077 attacks with 169 hitting errors. Paulsen's season also included 24 assists, 19 ace serves, 442 digs and 56 blocks, including 44 block assists.

 

Parker finished second to Paulsen in kills with 359. Her hitting percentage was .232 with those kills coming from 881 attacks with 155 hitting errors. Parker's season also included 11 assists, 20 ace serves, 119 digs and 39 blocks, including 26 block assists.

 

The DMACC volleyball team concluded the season with a 23-12 record and a 6-3 mark in the ICCAC. The Bears season end with a 3-2 loss to Kirkwood Community College (KCC) in the semifinals of the NJCAA Region XI-A Volleyball Tournament.
