DMACC volleyball team drops matches against MCC-Longview and Neosho County

The Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) volleyball team saw its record slip to 8-4 following losses to Neosho Community College (NCC) and Longview Community College (LCC) September 17 at Lee's Summit, Mo.

 

Longview needed five sets to come away with a 3-2 decision against the Bears and NCC defeated DMACC in three sets.

 

Sophomore Peyton Parker of La Porte City had 15 kills, sophomore Madison Paulsen of Council Bluffs added 11 and sophomore Lacey Clark of Bettendorf and freshmen Amber Dilsaver of Fort Madison came away with nine apiece in DMACC's loss to LCC. Set scores were 25-20, 25-22, 16-25, 17-25, 13-15.

 

DMACC hit .212 in the loss, getting 58 kills from 146 attacks with 27 hitting errors.

 

Freshman Cailey Schaa of Council Bluffs and sophomore Gill Tupper of Nevada topped the Beats in assists with 29 and 26 respectively and Tupper contributed a pair of ace serves.

 

DMACC got a team-high 25 digs from freshman Daiton Martin of Essex and Paulsen added 12. Dilsaver led the way in blocks with four, including two block assists.

 

Parker had nine kills and Paulsen and Dilsaver finished with six apiece in DMACC's loss to NCC.

 

Set scores were 19-25, 23-25, 15-25.

 

DMACC hit .061 in the loss, getting 30 kills from 123 attacks with 23 hitting errors.

 

Tupper led the Bears in assists with 18 and Schaa finished with 12. Martin topped DMACC in digs with 21 and Paulsen had 12.

 

The DMACC volleyball team returns to Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) play with a match against North Iowa Area Community College (NIACC) September 19 inside the DMACC gymnasium. DMACC is 1-2 in conference play. NIACC is 12-5 overall and 1-2 in the conference. The match begins at 6:30 p.m.
