Two members of the DMACC women's track & field team have qualified for the 2025 NJCAA Men's and Women's Indoor Track & Field Championships March 7 and 8 at Lubbock, Texas.
Sophomores Grace Collins of Johnston and Kayden Spencer of Boone will run in the women's 3000-meter run at nationals and Collins will also compete in the women's 1000-meter run.
Collins and Spencer advanced to nationals in the 3000-meter run after meeting the qualifying standard in the event during the indoor regular season. And Collins qualified in the 1000-meter run after finishing fourth in that event during the 2025 Indoor Track & Field Region 11 Championships Feb. 21 and 22 at Storm Lake. Her qualifying time was 3 minutes, 7.48 seconds. Spencer also ran in the event, finishing sixth with a time of 3:14.01.
DMACC runners also competed in the mile run, the 800-meter run and the 4x400-meter relay at the Region 11 championships.
Freshman Dakota Tromblay of Ogden finished eighth in the mile run, posting a time of 6:03.71, and sophomore Tori Yunggebauer of Williamsburg was ninth, crossing the finish line in 6:10.71.
Sophomore Abigail Harding of Iowa Falls and freshman Ava Manning of Des Moines were fourth and seventh respectively in the 800-meter run. Harding's time was 2:29.99 and Manning finished in 2:40.68.
The foursome of Collins, Harding, Spencer and Manning finished sixth in the 4x400-meter relay. Their time was 4:38.84.
