The Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) women's golf team will begin the spring portion of the 2018-19 season in the Midland/Colege of Saint Mary's (CSM) Freemont, Neb on April 3. The second day of the tournament will be held in Omaha, Neb on April.

Head coach Chris Seaboch has just four players on the roster meaning each player's score will count in every tournament.

Sophomores Meghan Matherly of Ankeny, Kylie Nichols of Ogden and Alison Schweers of Carroll and freshman Abi Tinlin of Des Moines make up the roster.

"We are what we are," Seaboch said. "The girls know (that every score counts in every tournament) and they are ready for it. All of them have worked extremely hard and I'm very proud of what they have been showing over the winter in our winter workouts and even this spring. We've got girls putting in extra work and everybody has been doing a great job."

Seaboch pointed out that Nichols and Schweers played in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) national championships last spring and are expected to lead the team during the spring season. And he said Matherly has a "ton of talent," and just needs to tighten up some things with her short game.

"She hits it the farthest of all of our girls so she's got the distance covered," Seaboch said. "Abi, our lone freshman, has really been working hard. She's made great strides and I think will continue to do that."

Seaboch said if his team stays healthy it could be a factor in the NJCAA Region XI Championships in late April.

"We know the margin of error is small and it wouldn't totally shock me if we got all four to nationals," Seaboch said. "It's going to be tough, but we can do it."
