DMACC Women's Golf Team Wins Region XI Spring Preview

Sophomore Jaime Bellingham of Auckland, New Zealand, took medalist honors with an 81 and led the Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) women's golf team to the team championship in the Region XI Spring Preview April 13 at Lake Panorama National Golf Course in Panora.

 

The Bears completed the 18-hole tournament with 366 strokes and a 28-stroke advantage over runner-up Southeastern Community College (SECC), which finished at 394.

 

Bellingham's 81 gave her a nine-stroke cushion over the runner-up, Morgan Totsch of SECC.

 

Other DMACC results included a 91 by sophomore Kortney Orr of Columbus Junction, a 94 by freshman Alison Schweers of Carroll, a 100 by freshman Meghan Matherly of Ankeny and a 101 by freshman Kylie Nichols of Ogden.

 

Orr tied for third in the individual competition, Schweers tied for sixth, Matherly finished 11th and Nichols was 12th.
