DMACC women's golf team finishes fourth in Peru State Spring Invite

Sophomore Jaime Bellingham of Auckland, New Zealand, finished third in the individual competition in leading the Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) women's golf team to a fourth-place finish in the Peru State Spring Invite April 11 at Nebraska City, Neb.

 

Bellingham shot an 11-over-par 82 as the Bears totaled 367 strokes in the tournament. Morningside College took the team championship with 342 strokes and Morningside's Samantha Knight took medalist honors with an 18-hole score of 79.

 

Other DMACC results included an 87 by sophomore Kortney Orr of Columbus Junction, a 98 by freshman Kylie Nichols of Ogden, a 100 by freshman Alison Schweers of Carroll and a 102 by freshman Meghan Matherly of Ankeny.

 

Orr tied for seventh in the individual competition, Nichols tied for 21st place, Schweers tied for 23rd place and Matherly finished 25th.

 

The DMACC women's golf team will play in the ICCAC Spring Preview April 13 at Lake Panorama National Golf Course in Panora.
