DMACC Women's Golf Team Wins Triangular Meet

The Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) women's golf team came away with a first-place finish in a triangular against North Iowa Area Community College (NIACC) and Iowa Lakes Community College (ILCC) April 5 at Otter Creek Golf Course in Ankeny.

 

The Bears, led by sophomore Jamie Bellingham of Auckland, New Zealand, finished the meet with 348 strokes and a 28-stroke advantage over runner-up NIACC. Bellingham posted an 18-hole score of 75 to take medalist honors and DMACC sophomore Kortney Orr of Columbus Junction finished second with a 79.

 

Other DMACC results included a 93 by freshman Alison Schweers of Carroll, a 101 by freshman Megan Matherly of Ankeny and a 102 by freshman Kylie Nichols of Ogden. Schweers finished fifth in the individual competition, Matherly was 11th and Nichols placed 12th.
