DMACC Women's Golf Team Finishes Sixth in BVU Fall Invite

Sophomore Jaime Bellingham of Auckland, New Zealand, took medalist honors with an eight-over-par 152 as the Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) women's golf team finished seventh in the BVU Fall Invite Sept. 22 and 23 at Storm Lake.

 

Bellingham posted a two-over-par 74 on the first day and added a 78 in the second rounds to finish one stroke ahead of Lisa Lied of Iowa Western Community College (IWCC).

 

DMACC finished with a two-day total of 715, four strokes behind fifth-place Dakota Wesleyan and six strokes behind fourth-place Mount Marty College. Briar Cliff University took the team championship with 646 strokes.

 

Other DMACC scores included a 175 by freshman Allison Schweers of Carroll, a 177 by sophomore Kortney Orr of Columbus Junction, a 195 by freshman Meghan Matherly of Ankeny, a 211 by freshman Kylie Nichols of Ogden and a 212 by freshman Haley Trueg of Muscatine. Schweers shot rounds of 90 and 85 to finish in 20th place, Orr tied for 26th behind rounds of 86 and 91, Matherly posted scores of 96 and 99 to tie for 64th place, Nichols tied for 75th on rounds of 104 and 107 and Trueg finished 77th with rounds of 105 and 107.

 

The DMACC women's golf team will close out the fall season in the Waldorf Invitational Oct. 1 at Forest City.
