Rodriguez leads DMACC men's cross country team to fourth-place finish in Herb Blakely Invitational

Freshman Anthony Rodriguez of Des Moines took runner-up honors in the individual competition as the Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) men's cross country team placed fourth in the Herb Blakely Invitational Sept. 14 at Sioux Center.

 

Rodriguez toured the 8K course in 26 minutes, 44 seconds as the Bears scored 116 points in finishing second. Braden Curnow of Dakota State took medalist honors with a time of 25:47 and Dordt College won the team championship with 28 points.

 

Other DMACC results saw freshman Cameron Campbell of Ames finish 23rd in 29:31 and freshman Dakota Rusher of Story City finished 25th in 29:40. Sophomore Blake Gregory of Ogden finished in 30th place with a time of 30:49, freshman Noah Lee of Boone was 36th in 32:24 and freshman Cole Bennett of Ogden finished in 39th place with a time of 35:08.

 

The DMACC men's cross country team will run in the Southwestern XC Classic Sept. 28th at Osceola.
