DMACC men's golf team in 12th place after three rounds of NJCAA Division II National Championship

The Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) men's golf team climbed from 13th place to 12th place after posting a 314 in the third round of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II National Championship May 23 at Swan Lake Golf Resort in Plymouth, Ind.

 

The Bears have a 54-hole score of 945 and are five strokes ahead of 13th-place Scottsdale Community College (SCC). South Mountain Community College (SMCC) leads the tournament with a 54-hole total of 888 strokes.

 

Brice Wilkinson of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College (MGSCC) and Alex Hodge of Walters State Community College (WSCC) share individual honors with even-par scores of 216. Wilkinson posted a two-under-par 70 in his third tour of the course and Hodge shot 73.

 

DMACC is led by freshman Noah Hartman of Slater who is at 230 strokes after 54 holes. Hartman shot a 77 in the third round and is tied for 24th place in the individual competition. Sophomores Louis Psihoyos of Dubuque and Kolby Chup of Des Moines are tied for 36th and 57th respectively. Psihoyos posted a 76 in his third round and has a 54-hole score of 233 and Chup is at 238 after an 82 in the third round.

 

Rounding out the DMACC total are freshman Dylan Ellis of Aplington and sophomore Dylan Scheffler of Sac City. Ellis shot a 79 in his third round and has a 54-hole score of 247, good for a tie for 90th place. Scheffler shot an 88 in the third round and is tied for 109th with a score of 255.

 

The tournament concludes today at Swan Lake Golf Resort.
