DMACC men's golf team is second after first day of District G tournament

The Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) men's golf team is in second place following the first day of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) District G Championship May 5 at Veenker Memorial Golf Course in Ames.

 

Kirkwood Community College (KCC) leads the tournament with an 18-hole score of 304 and DMACC is second at 310. James Morgan of KCC and Ben Boerjan of North Iowa Area Community College (NIACC) share medalist honors with one-under-par scores of 71.

 

Sophomore Kolby Chup of Des Moines led DMACC with a two-over-par 73 and is in fourth place. Freshman Noah Hartman of Slater posted a 76 and is tied for seventh and sophomore Louis Psihoyos of Dubuque shot an 80 and is tied for 14. Freshman Dylan Ellis of Aplington and sophomore Dylan Scheffler of Sac City rounded out DMACC's performance with 81s and are tied for 18th place.

 

The 36-hole tournament concludes today at Veenker Memorial Golf Course.
