DMACC Men's Golf Team Finishes Third in Region XI Spring Preview

Freshman Avery Fuhs of Webster City carded a three-over-par 75, trying for fourth place in the individual competition and leading the Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) men's golf team to a third-place finish in the Region XI Spring Preview April 13 at Lake Panorama National Golf Course in Panora.

 

The Bears completed the tournament with 308 strokes, finishing two strokes behind the winning total of 306 posted by Kirkwood Community College (KCC). KCC's B team also finished with 306 strokes.

 

Aaron James of Iowa Lakes Community College (ILCC) took medalist honors with a three-under-par 69.

 

Other DMACC results included a 77 by sophomore Alec Fuhs of Webster City and 78s by sophomore Robert Flattery of Fort Dodge and freshman Kolby Culp of Des Moines. Alec Fuhs tied for eighth place and Flattery and Culp tied for 10th.

 

DMACC sophomore Parker Davidson of Pleasant Hill and freshmen Tyler Wierson of Ames, Drew Fielder of Webster City and Louis Psihoyos of Dubuque also played in the tournament. Davison shot an 82, finishing in 26th place; Wierson posted an 84, tying for 28th; Fielder carded an 87, trying for 39; and Psihoyos shot a 90, trying for 47th place.
