DMACC Men's golf team finishes second and third in DMACC Invitational

The Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) men's golf team finished second and third in the DMACC Invitational April 5 at Otter Creek Golf Course in Ankeny.

 

DMACC A finished second with 314 strokes and DMACC B placed third with 321 strokes. Iowa Lakes Community College (ILCC) won the team championship with 312 strokes. North Iowa Area Community College (NIACC) was fourth at 330 and Grand View University (GVU) finished fifth at 331.

 

GVU's Seth Svejda took medalist honors with a score of 75.

 

DMACC was led by freshman Louis Psihoyos of Dubuque, who shot a 76 over the par-71 layout, tying for second place in the individual competition. Freshman Tyler Wierson of Ames turned in a 78, trying for fifth overall and sophomore Parker Davidson of Pleasant Hill tied for eight place with a round of 79. Sophomore Grand Waline of Story City rounded out DMACC A's performance with an 81, tying for 12th place.

 

Freshman Drew Fielder of Webster City led DMACC B with a 78 and tied for fifth place. Other DMACC B results included an 80 by sophomore Sean Vogelbacher of Webster City, an 81 by sophomore Dalton Huseman of Boone, an 82 by sophomore Sage Fitchko of Huxley and a 94 by sophomore Aidan Fitchko of Huxley. Vogelbacher tied for 10th place, Huseman tied for 12th, Sage Fitchko tied for 15th place and Aidan Fitchko finished in 24th place.

 

The DMACC men's golf team will play in the ICCAC Spring Preview April 13 at Lake Panorama National Golf Course in Panora
