DMACC Men's Golf Team Finishes Second in NJCAA Region XI Fall Preview

The DMACC men's golf team came away with a second-place finish in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region XI Fall Preview Oct. 8th and 9th at Lake Panorama National Golf Course in Panora.

 

The Bears finished the tournament with 611 strokes, 14 strokes behind the winning total of 597 posted by Kirkwood Community College (KCC). KCC's Niall Powell took medalist honors with a one-over-par 145.

 

Sophomores Alec Fuhs of Webster City and Parker Davison of Pleasant Hill led DMACC. Fuhs shot rounds of 74 and 77 for a 36-hole total of 151 and Davidson was a stroke back at 152 behind two rounds of 76. Fuhs tied for fourth in the individual competition and Davidson tied for sixth.

 

Other DMACC results saw sophomore Avery Fuhs of Webster City and freshman Dylan Scheffler of Sac City tie for ninth at 154. Avery Fuhs posted rounds of 74 and 80 and Scheffler turned in scores of 75 and 79. Freshmen Drew Fielder of Webster City and Louis Psihoyos of Dubuque finished 13th and 16th respectively. Fielder shot scores of 77 and 80 for a 157 and Psihoyos shot 79 and 82 for a 161.

 

Sophomores Robert Flattery of Fort Dodge and Grant Waline of Story City rounded out DMACC's performance with identical scores of 165, tying for 22nd. Flattery posted scores of 79 and 86 and Waline shot rounds of 88 and 77.

 

The DMACC men's golf team will close out the fall season with a Ryder Cup competition Oct 15th at Mason City.
