Men's Golf Team Ties for Third in Quad Cup Tourney

The Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) men's golf team came away with a tie for third place in the first Quad Cup tournament Oct. 15th at the Mason City Country Club in Mason City.
 
The Bears dropped a sudden-death decision to Iowa Lakes Community College (ILCC) in the semifinals and then tied North Iowa Area Community College (NIACC), 2-2, in the third-place match, giving the two teams a tie for third.
 
Freshman Drew Fielder of Webster City teamed with sophomore Robert Flattery of Fort Dodge to give the Bears one of their two victories in the match against ILCC, winning by a 6 up score. The team of sophomores Alec and Avery Fuhs of Webster City was also victorious in the ILCC match, coming away with a 5 up decision.
 
DMACC sophomores Grant Waline of Story City and Parker Davidson of Pleasant Hill suffered one of the two DMACC losses in the ILCC match and the team of freshman Dylan Scheffler of Sac City and Tyler Wierson of Ames also lost their match. Waline and Davidson lost by a 3 and 2 score and Scheffler and Wierson fell, 4 up.
 
Against NIACC, Alec Fuhs and Fielder came away with a 3 up win and Avery Fuhs and Flattery also won, 1 up. Davidson and Scheffler lost, 3 and 2, and Waline and Wierson lost by a 2 and 1 score.
 
The tournament closed out the fall season for there DMACC men's golf team.
