Des Moines Area Community College Head Coach John Bowler has announced the hiring of Sam Esboldt as an assistant coach. 
 
Esboldt comes to DMACC after a 3 year stint with Brooklyn Center High School in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota. 
 
“We are extremely excited to add Sam to our program.” Said Bowler.  “Sam is a young and hungry coach who will play a key role to our program’s development on and off the court. His energy and work ethic is the perfect piece to rounding out our staff.”
 
The Minnesota native helped the Centaurs set a record for most wins in a 3 year span in program history while securing the program’s first state tournament appearance in 35 years. His roles for the Centaurs included development of perimeter players, video coordinator, lead scout and on-floor coaching. Esboldt played a vital role developing three of the top perimeter players in program. 
 
“I am excited to be joining Bowler’s staff, and ready to help continue this programs legacy.” Said Esboldt. “I am grateful to be welcomed into the Bear family” 
 
Esboldt attended the University of Minnesota-Morris and graduated with a degree in Sport Management. 
 
Esboldt lives in Boone with his wife, Sara.
