DMACC Men's Basketball Team Falls to Marshalltown CC, 77-68

Sophomore Wali Parks of Iowa City scored a team-high 18 points as the Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) men's basketball team dropped a 77-68 decision to Marshalltown Community College (MCC) November 25 at Marshalltown.

 

Sophomore Antowine Locke of Bolingbrook, Ill., and freshman DeShawn Davidson of Waukegan, Ill., scored 13 points apiece and freshman Lee Higgins of Chicago, Ill., had 11 points as the Bears fell to 8-2 for the season.

 

The two teams were tied at 32 at halftime, but MCC outscored DMACC 45-36 in the second half to come away with the win. The Bears shot just 32 percent in the game, making 18 of 56 field goal attempts. They were 6-of-23 from three-point range and 26-of-31 from the free throw line.

 

MCC also had the advantage in rebounding, 37-23. Sophomore Nysir Marshburn of Philadelphia, Penn., and freshman Andrew Madison of Grand Rapids, Mich., led DMACC with five rebounds apiece. Parks and Higgins topped the Bears in assists with two apiece.

 

The DMACC men's basketball team will host the Waldorf College junior varsity on Nov. 28. Game time is 7:30 p.m. inside the DMACC gymnasium
